Space of Good Hope is a postgraduate research studio at the School of Architecture, Planning & Geomatics at the University of Cape Town that emphasises community engagement and design in Delft, Cape Town. The project is equally a space for learning as well as a way of learning from place: a collective search for embedded knowledge in marginalised urban spaces.

Opened in 2015, the Lutheran Church Outreach Foundation Community Centre was designed by Local Studio, a Johannesburg based architecture and urbanism practice. The building stands as the first new-build social infrastructure project for the neighbourhood since the 1970s and anchors an ecosystem of socially engaged spatial interventions by the organisation.
